Crystal Bridges and the Momentary Provide Update on Programming After Weekend Storms

BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Recent severe weather events have wreaked havoc across much of Northwest Arkansas. The recovery process will be slow and difficult for many, and Crystal Bridges and the Momentary are committed to offering a respite to those who seek comfort, safety, and community bonding.

The Momentary will reopen to the public tomorrow, Thursday, May 30. Kristine Potter: Dark Waters will be on view, while Awol Erizku: Mystic Parallax and the Tower Bar will both reopen at a later date. The Momentary has modified scheduled programming this week while cleanup efforts continue.

Crystal Bridges will operate with regular business hours this week. Admission to Exquisite Creatures is free for the Northwest Arkansas community through Monday, June 3.

Current operational and programmatic updates are as follows:

OPERATIONS 

CRYSTAL BRIDGES Crystal Bridges resumed regular summer business hours Wednesday, May 29, at 10 a.m. Crystal Bridges’ summer hours are Monday, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Thursday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. THE MOMENTARY The Momentary will open to the public Thursday, May 30. Kristine Potter: Dark Waters will be open Thursday, May 30. Awol Erizku: Mystic Parallax will be closed until further notice. The Momentary’s Tower Bar will be closed until further notice. TRAILS & GROUNDS While the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art building and interior spaces remain structurally sound, the trails and grounds sustained significant damage and are closed at this time. The public is asked to stay clear of these outdoor areas so cleanup can continue.

PROGRAMMING UPDATES

CRYSTAL BRIDGES Admission to Exquisite Creatures will be free for the Northwest Arkansas community through Monday, June 3. Expanded, free, drop-in artmaking activities for people of all ages will be available, a hopeful resource for families impacted by early school year closures in Bentonville and Rogers. The Portal: An Art Experience by Jewel scheduled for Thursday, May 30, has been canceled. Guests who purchased tickets to Thursday’s show will receive a refund. For questions, ticket holders can call 479.657.2335. An update about Friday’s The Portal experience will be provided soon. The Cocktail Tours scheduled for Thursday, May 30, have been canceled. All tours of the Frank Lloyd Wright Bachman-Wilson House have been canceled until further notice. Crystal Bridges’ Garden Week and Garden Week Kickoff have been canceled. The Sculpture and Nature Drop-in Tours have been moved indoors until further notice. THE MOMENTARY An Evening with John Legend Live on the Green concert, currently scheduled for Saturday, June 1, is being evaluated. An update will be provided soon. The House Party at the Mo, which was planned for Saturday, June 1, has been canceled. The After-Hours Dance Party with DJs Duë Champ and Kitty Ca$h, which was scheduled for Saturday, June 1, has been canceled. MoPros | In Conversation with Danielle Hatch, which was scheduled for Wednesday, May 29, in the Tower Bar at the Momentary has been rescheduled for Wednesday, July 31. The Tower Bar Sessions with DJ Oplex, which was scheduled for Thursday, May 30, is canceled. About Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art

The mission of Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art is to welcome all to celebrate the American spirit in a setting that unites the power of art with the beauty of nature. Since opening in 2011, the museum has welcomed more than 15 million visitors across its spaces, with no cost for admission.

Crystal Bridges was founded in 2005 as a public 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization by philanthropist Alice Walton. The collection spans five centuries of American masterworks from early American to current day and is enhanced by temporary exhibitions.

About the Momentary

Opened in February 2020 in Downtown Bentonville, the Momentary is a venue for the music, art, and food of our time, and a catalyst for creativity and economic vitality.

The institution serves as an extension of Crystal Bridges and functions as a community gathering space. It features programming including live music performances, visual and performing arts, artist residencies, and culinary experiences. The venue provides free general admission and offers both indoor and outdoor spaces for events.
