Biodiversity Suits for Urban Pigeons: Passenger Pigeon II
Laurel Roth Hope crocheted comfortable sweaters designed to fit a standard urban pigeon, which is plentiful and considered a nuisance. The tiny sweater, or biodiversity suit, transforms the commonplace urban pigeon into a passenger pigeon and restores an extinct bird species. Yet the disguise creates a false sense of biodiversity and serves as a warning of the previous fate of the passenger pigeon and the negative impact humans can have on the natural world.
