Celebrating the American Spirit

Crystal Bridges' inaugural exhibition, Celebrating the American Spirit, presented an ambitious survey of 357 works spanning five centuries of American art. From early portraiture and Hudson River School landscapes to Abstract Expressionism and contemporary installation, the exhibition announced the museum's mission to tell the full story of American creativity and established Crystal Bridges as a major new destination for American art.
