State of the Art 2020 presents 32 works from Crystal Bridges' landmark exhibition surveying contemporary art being made across the United States. Building on the museum's inaugural 2014 State of the Art project, this collection features artists working in painting, sculpture, installation, video, and mixed media, selected from an extensive nationwide studio visit program. The works reflect the diversity of artistic practice in America today — addressing themes of community, environment, technology, identity, and social justice — and affirm Crystal Bridges' commitment to championing living artists from every region of the country.
